ABOUT
I am interested in creating serene and contemplative paintings using oils and watercolours.
My career was in the medical/science field and I think this has led me to concentrate on the fine details of objects. Also my study of Art History has influenced my interpretations of the Still Life painting tradition, but I like to give them a much more contemporary feel. Through a more minimal and carefully edited composition my paintings tend to have a sense of calm and serenity. I paint on fine canvas or smooth gessoed wood panels .
My Botanical works on smooth watercolour paper are inspired by the wonderful creations of nature, with such varied structures, colours and textures, so perfectly evolved to fill their niche in the natural world. A joy to paint!
